Cayuse Hide Painting

Cayuse Hide Painting

The Cayuse Hide Painting on deer skin is truly a Patricia Wolf work of art with the character of a museum artifact. Native Americans painted hides to depict important events in their lives by painting deer hides, which were handed down to future generations as family heirlooms. This hide features a design of a Brave riding his pony as he escorts 2 more ponies to their destination. The hide is folded over a cedar stick and adorned with feathers, sheep wool, and beaded tassels wrapped on the ends. Fowl feathers and beaded medallions embellish the hide. The timeless appeal of this hide painting will add an authentic native accent to your Western or Southwestern themed home.  Hide size will vary, and no two hides are alike. Shown in Smoke deer skin. The stick is approximately 56 inches long with the hide measuring approximately 40" X 40".
