Canoe Pillow features the canoe image printed on linen with colorful hand-painted details accenting the canoe. The pillow tells the story of early American Indians in the north country, using canoes made of birch bark, which was ideal because it is lightweight and waterproof. Canoes were ideal for travelling long distances in the rivers and lakes of North America. The canoe was an important link to commerce as the fur trade exploded in America in the early 1700s.
